Dewdropzcraft challenge

I saw this challenge highlighted on Adele’s blog …

I have decided to set a challenge on my blog today….
I would love to see all your cards/layouts/altered art projects using patterned ribbons..
This will be open to all until next Saturday and the winner will receive ‘Walter’
Here’s my entry – most of the ribbon I have is plain but I found this piece loitering in the bottom of my bitz tin – I had received it from Silvercustard as part of a competition win over on the CB Forum but it had never seemed to ‘fit’ any project so this time I took the ribbon as my starting point and then chose the colours to match!!!
I also made use of my new toy … more on that later!!!
Image – had been knocking around desktop for some time!
Roses paper from Readicut
Paermania turquoise card embossed in my new cuttlebug!
Just for you sentiment from old issue of Let’s Make Cards magazine

Yet another challenge!

I may seem to be doing a lot of challenges but with so many family cards to do this month they are helping to keep the creative juices flowing!

I was really stuck for my step-sister’s 50th and needed to post it by tomorrow at the latest so last night I set myself the challenge of using the Sketch Saturday sketch #16 to make her card today 🙂 and I have combined it with my entry to the Arty Girlz challenge blog which is

….create something for a Birthday so could be a card or a gift, even a layout of a birthday ~ anything you like as long as its associated with a birthday

Here’s the sketch again …

Well I did it – I used Dovecraft Designer Papers – Kate Knight – Aqua 12 x 12 – for the backing – in fact the offcut from the quotation challenge that I did the other day! The two small rectangles are from paper that I got from Sequin in my prize from her challenge on the CB forum – backed by some plain blue pearlescent paper in my stash. The sequin leaves and the butterflies are from Poundland back at Easter when I went to York!

Hope she likes it!!! 🙂

We are sharing a birthday present this year as we are both reaching the magic 50 … our parents have paid for us to go and see Cliff Richard together at Wembley Arena in November!!! Last time we went to see him together was at the Apollo in Victoria when we were both 21!!!! We were in the front row then – got to make do with row 14 this year though!!!

And also …

The challenge at Dottie’s World this week is entitled AND ALSO

I would like you to make a card or something, which of course is using a download/s from Charmed Cards AND ALSO…..something which can be removed from it,such as a tag, bookmark, notelets

So … birthday coming up for one of the chaps at church who works for the Highways Agency – you know those black and yellow 4x4s that make you think they are the police until you get a bit closer!!!!!

I have been dying to do something with the policeman George from George at work and here was my chance … I just coloured him in the Highways Agency colours instead of police colours!

So … the ‘and also’ part is a removable bookmark for his bible (at least I hope the glue lives up to its promises and it IS removable!!!) while the whole card is Chris and his job!!! Look closely at the cones and you will see the words ‘Happy Birthday!’

No glue!

The lovely Sequin set a challenge on the CB forum to create a project using no glue or tape :-0

Mind went a bit boggly for a bit at the thought of this but this is what I came up with:

Gift boxes

Ok – here we are – three present boxes for my friend’s present – varying in size to accommodate earrings, bracelet and necklace.

I printed my favourite print onto card and then printed a contrasting print on the back.

Cut and scored into boxes which are then tied with ribbon.

Each box has a different colour flower, co-ordinating with the main colours in the print, attached with a brad and the ribbons are colour co-ordinated to match the flower and shades of green on the print.

Here’s some pics of all three and the fronts and the backs with the ribbons plus the inside print.
