Sponsored dare – Sparkle and Bling

Over at Daring Cardmakers this week’s challenge is Sparkle and Bling. There’s a fab prize on offer –

As it is a sponsored dare this week, we will choose a random winner who will win 2 download collections of their choice or the Dottie and George Christmas download. In addition to this fabulous prize, Karen who owns Charmed Cards and Crafts is going to put together a little something extra from her shop making it 2 prizes up for offer this week so it is going to be well worth taking us up on the dare to be in with a chance to win!

The download can be won by anyone worldwide, but sadly the extra prize can only be posted to within Europe as Karen doesn’t ship worldwide.

We think you should make your card just for us this time – so please, no combined challenges for our prize dare.

Here’s another one I made before my accident last week – just not published it before – hope that counts 🙂 I based it on the ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ programme and just wondered what Dottie was thinking as she beautified herself … this is the result:

Not much sparkle and bling there you might say – apart from the stars and the highlighting on the writing … but take a look inside!

Glitter courtesy of Papercraft Inspirations, purple mirror card from the Co-op, I’ve had the lady ages – can’t remember her provenance!, inside writing via Microsoft WORD, Retro paper on front of card along with a Dotty download!!!

Final challenge entry for today!!!

This is a card sketch over on Card Positioning Systems (CPS)

Amazingly – my card only fits this challenge and no others!!!

Here it is …

The main image was from patterns in an old Crafts Beautiful mag, I coloured it in with Whispers pens and Crayola twist up coloured pencils. The ‘Happy Birthday’ was printed onto card from the computer and edged with ColorBox Cat’s Eye Queue 6-in-1 Pigment Inkpads. The swirls are rub-ons from Impress-On.

The challenge this week is to use Clip Art in your creations, if you don’t have any clip art do a google search and take your pick there are lots of great clip art images on the net, OR for this challenge you can use copyright free images from other sources that you may have.

Bright!

Clashy is good, hot colours are good, anything super duper bright is good too.

Here’s my effort:

The image is by Perla Lewis, whose work is galleried over on Flick’r and has many images available for download under a Creative Commons license

This image is titled –

“Just because I’m happy… I want you, my friends, to be happy too!

I wish you all a very happy bright day! ”

I love the colours in this image and they are definitely Bright! and the chocolate pearlescent card sets them off brilliantly 🙂

Multi challenge (2)

I did another card for the Color Throw Down challenge before I made Tilda (see below)

These are the colours

I had coloured in some dovecraft stamped images on Saturday evening whilst watching ‘Strictly’ and ‘X factor’ and one of them happened to be tangerine … so I went on a hunt for some paper to match the colours and came across this lovely paisley from Natalie, along with the teal patterned paper – the paler background being just the right colour 🙂

Put them all together along with a ribbon (from Claire in a prize a while back) and an embellishment from my stash and you get this:

Multi challenge (1)

Ok – made a few cards this afternoon aiming to enter a challenge or two … most of the cards fit in with two or more challenges!!! So – hang onto your hats and try and keep up …

First off – Tilda – I think this is my first ever Tilda card!!!! The image came in some blog candy from Carolyn.

This card fits the criteria for four challenges!!!

Spot the deliberate mistake!!!

Cupcake Craft Challenge blog has a great layout as this weeks challenge …

Having committed the sketch to memory I sallied off to my new craft space and produced this lovely card:

Spot the deliberate mistake!!! The ribbon should be on top of the papers and not underneath it!!

Score!

Caardvarks blog has a challenge this week

Create a ***NEW*** item that incorporates scoring in a special technique. Anything goes for this one — you can enter a card (of course!), layout, mini book, or any other type of papercrafting project that uses scoring as a fundamental element of the project. Have your entry linked to us in the comments section of this post by October 18th at Midnight.

I made these style of jewellery boxes using my Crafter’s Companion board – first discovered these when entering a ‘no glue’ challenge back in the summer. They are actually based on a wedding favour design but I have adapted the size as necessary to fit the jewellery.

I just made these ones for my step-sister’s birthday – one for the earrings, the bracelet and the necklace.
