An oval sort of day :-)

My cards for today have taken an oval theme – wasn’t planned but that’s what happened!

The first one started with the oval frame cut from some double sided 12×12 papermania paper (the other side has lots of lovely dots – then I added the turqoise card to back it. Faffed around for ages about what to place in the frame – decided to use one of the stamps I got off ebay – stamped it in turquoise on card and then used silver to stamp the background – picking out the hint of silver in the frame. Then discovered the whole lot was too large for one of my standard A6 cards! Had one A5 card in black so embossed flowers and scrolls in the corners and highlighted flowers with turquoise glitter glue, adding gem to centre. Here it is:

It was a turquoise sort of day too! made the embellishment for this one with a piece of embossed paper that came free with a set of men’s papers. Got the turquoise glitter glue and the gems out for this one too! Stamped the flowers on the background afterwards as it looked too plain – would have been better to do this before so they were more random … learning point there! Have since added a fancy underline to the Happy Birthday stamp in gold pen šŸ™‚

Final oval … another piece of 12×12 papermania double sided paper – reverse is brown and I can’t abide it!!! I used an aperture card for this one and made a real pig’s ear of matching the aperture in the paper and had to recut the aperture – hence the size! – lesson = put something inside a ready cut aperture card – make own aperture cards by using full blanks and adding paper first!!!!

Anyway – lined this with paper from Do-craft goody bag. Cut three flowers using Sissix Sidekick – threaded ribbon through two of the diecut holes and added to card, then stuck small sequin flower to thrid hole and added a matching gem.
