Thanks a bunch

The challenge over at Dottie’s world this week is to make a Thank You card. I’ve used fairy Dottie who has been knocking around my craft desk for a few weeks looking for a card to make her home on!!!

Black and Grey Plus One Colour Choice …

… is the challenge over at Cupcake Craft this week … here’s my take on it … stamp courtesy of my friend Bev and paper is a Kate Knight design. I backed the stamped image and the paper with a cerise card and added cerise gems to the centre of the flowers. Hope you like :)

No designer/patterned papers

Two challenges this week are very similar – one is no designer paper at  Cute Card Thursday and the other is no patterned paper at Secret Crafter. I made an anniversary card for my hubby that fits the bill …

The wording is based on Psalm 1 while the inside sentiment comes from the heart!

LOTV blog candy

LOTV are offering this lovely candy but you need to be nippy about it as it is only open until Saturday!

Tri-fold shutter card

… at least that’s what I think it’s called.

This is a commission for a friend to give to her friend on the anniversary of a loss – had to have a robin in a garden – hope she likes it. Lots of pics :-)

Card recipe

This card has two inspirations:

The layout is based on card sketch 165 over at CPS

… and the recipe is from Cupcake Craft Challenges:

3 PAPERS…3 RIBBONS…3 FLOWERS.

This is the sketch …

and this is my card …

Stars and swirls

Back hasn’t been too good this week so only a very quick card for the My Time To Craft Challenge – stars and swirls. The paper is a Kate Knight design which was free with a card magazine last month, the topper, which if you look closely has stars on it, mainly under the glitter, was from either Let’s Make Cards or one of its sister magazines, as was the tag and the ribbon. The swirls are from the paper design and also the paisley pattern from my embossing folder for the cuttlebug.

Birthday card for a good friend

I decided to have a go at a few challenges in one with this card. Secret Crafter this week has the theme of friendship, Simon Says has a Birthday theme as it is their first blogaversary and Papertake Weekly has a sketch.

I followed the sketch from Papertake Weekly, using some brads which matched the colour scheme. I used my Cuttlebug Birds and Flowers embossing folder for the vertical strip. The Happy Birthday text is actually silver but must have some holographic properties as it has come out all colours in the photo. It’s off a recycled birthday card :-)

This card is for one of my really good friends for her birthday. The front picture mentions friendship (not sure of the provenance of this image so have used it for a personal card rather than one for my ‘For sale’ box). The insert has a friendship wish from a stamp from Inkadinkado on it.

The paper has been in one of my boxes for over a year and I don’t know the name of it.

Scrappage

Over at Simon Says the challenge has been buttons, bows and bling and at Creative Craft the challenge is Blooming Marvellous. I also set myself a challenge of using up all those offcuts that are littering my desk – brown and orange card and a couple of strips of K & Co offcuts in similar colours. The ribbons are from those straps that are on garments to keep them on the hanger … they always manage to worm their way into view so I chop them off and use for cards instead.

Here we are – on ivory hammer card – the only large piece of card that I have used!

Couple of cards

The first one is made with the ‘rejects’ from my Sketch Saturday challenge posted earlier (see Mojo Malfunction)

The second was a piece of Laura Ashley paper from a pad that I haven’t made much use of, plus some flowers made using my Slice and two punches. I actually had a tree image and some embossed card to go on this but felt it was too much so just went for the ‘smile’ cut out by my Slice – just don’t mention the mess I got in with the silicon glue and the dot for the ‘i’
