LMC challenge 17

Let’s Make Cards issue 17 challenge over on the Crafts Beautiful forum is to amke a card using at least three items from the kit.

This a 35th Wedding Anniversary card for my sister and her hubby – coral and/or jade were the colours according to Wikipaedia so I used both…

It’s based on one of the cards in the magazine but I’ve added coral backing paper from my stash behind the champagne bottle and also some silver backing behind the green starred paper from the kit.

I used a rub on from an old LGC mag for the sentiment onto some more of the coral paper and then backed that with the corrugated green from the kit. I then stuck some of the apricot starred paper onto card and cut out a star shape (nightmare! cannot draw stars for the life of me!) edging it with a green glitter pen and then adding a further peel-off sticker onto green mulberry paper. Then I stamped some stars in shades of green and highlighted them with the green glitter pen too.

Final touch was the ‘35’ peel-off stuck onto green mulberry paper and then hung round the neck of the bottle using the green beading from the kit and adding some stars from the kit.

Get well soon

Asked by OH to make a get well card for his boss … here’s the result

Good old Papermania card and paper for the backgrounds – plenty of dots to match Dottie’s bedding!

George has a haircut …

Hope Louise doesn’t mind but I gave George a bit of a haircut for a friend’s birthday card … He’s greatly into Macs so I gave him a Mac Mini using the George at Work downloads – but the problem is he doesn’t have much hair and George has loads so I gave him a shave …

Used my new Sakura white pen to highlight the computer and also to go over the ‘Happy Birthday’ on the DCWV paper backing. I offset the picture as it was the only way to let the words show!!!

115 days to Christmas challenge

Well – it was last Sunday when I strolled by the Dottie’s World challenge for this week.

……and what a treat we have in store for you this week with Lou’s fabulous announcement yesterday – everyone who enters this week’s challenge will receive a brand new Dottie image!!!

So to the challenge – simple really, just make something Christmassy – a card, tag, decoration; as long as you include one of the downloads (it doesn’t HAVE to be from the Christmas collection either as many of the other Charmed digital download images are so adaptable).

The other images are very adaptable as I don’t have the Christmas collection … I don’t have time to make many Christmas cards so mine will be bought ones except for a few.

Here’s Dottie, from the Fun Time Dottie Kit, carrying her offering of a Christmas pudding – instead of the parcel she normally carries! I paper pieced Dottie’s dress and then added her arms and shoulders, tucking in a Christmas pudding (that I had sized to fit) into the slit between her arms and her shoulders. Lots of glitter on Dottie’s dress, shoes and headband complete the Christmas look, along with some traditional colours on the layered card and a piece of Christmas pudding paper from my stash!
