Today’s makes

Two quick cards today – both birthday cards. First two pictures (same card – with and without flash)

are using DCWV Retro paper, paper from the readicut pack and a vellum from a DoCraft goody bag. The flowers are from a free pack (same pack as the blue flowers on the Thank You cards from y’day). Then I creased an extra piece of the metallic paper and added the ‘Happy Birthday’ peeloff and then a few gems to finish.

Second card is a favourite :-)

I used paper from readicut (again! there’s a lot of it and I love these metallic ones) – can’t remember the provenance of the pastel yellow swirls except that it was a reduced price pack of 12×12 cos of damage at the Range. The letters comes from another DCWV stack – Text prints this time. The flower is made up of six oval sequins that I got in a pack of bling at Poundland in York with a brad pushed trough the holes and then fanned around to make the shape :-)

Cute Card Thursday # 9 – Gems and Jewels

Just saw Jules’ entry for Cute Card Thursday # 9 on her blog and she challenged her readers to have a go so I’m entering one of this week’s makes :-)

Here it is …

The blue paper came from a freebie with a book of men’s papers. The backing paper came from a readicut paper selection (free!) The flower I cut with a sissix die in a sidekick (which was a gift for subscribing to a magazine for a year) and the gems were free with a magazine. The black topper with the words on is actually the card insert from the stencil that I used to stencil the words (got the name etc on the back. I used a ‘pretty colours’ pen to stencil the words. The slightly distressed look comes from the fact that the ink still hadn’t ’set’ properly after a week in a hot conservatory – used hairspray in the end!

All in all a glam card for very little outlay!!!

This week’s cards

I’m not being very good about updating this blog so here is a slideshow of this week’s cards. My favourites are the thank you cards with the blue flowers :-)
